The Solomon Valley Raceway in Beloit will be the sight this summer for a big-time race named after popular area driver Chad McDaniel of Concordia.
McDaniel died in a crash during a race last summer in Knoxville, Iowa. The proceeds from the First Ever Chad McDaniel Memorial Race will go an education fund set up for his children.
The race was organized by Concordia racer Garrett Hood, his crew chief Nathan LaBarge, and racer Tyler Odle from Jamestown. Odle says this summer’s race in Beloit will be the fulfillment of a dream McDaniel had to promote Midget Races locally.

Solomon Valley Raceway President Paul Abram says the race is a tribute to McDaniel and will be a great source of local pride and economic development. Abram said, “We’re hoping to draw around 2000 people to this event which will be an economic boost to a lot of our area businesses.”
The Chad McDaniel Memorial Race will be held at the Solomon Valley Raceway at the Mitchell County Fairgrounds June 4th and 5th.
