General sign up for the Conservation Reserve Program – or CRP – will begin at area FSA offices next Monday, August 2nd.

It has been 4-years since the CRP Program, which was ushered in during the Reagan Administration in the 1980’s, has been updated.

The Department of Agriculture says contracts will go out to property owners who made the cut October 1st.

The 2008 Farm Bill authorized the USDA to maintain CRP enrollment up to
32-million acres. The sign up period ends August 29th.
